Meghan Farrell of MF Jewelry truly does it all. Since launching her jewelry line in 2010, she has somehow managed to also pursue her other passions: styling, theater, and music. Incorporating anatomy and psychology with a sense of lost romance, MF Jewelry is full of standout, instantly essential pieces, like the popular Skip Beat EKG Rings and Flight Earrings. We’re not alone in our admiration of MF Jewelry; musicians such as Rihanna, Michael Stipe, Binki Shapiro, and Alana Haim regularly wear the label’s wares. On a recent sunny afternoon at her showroom in NYC’s East Village, we became better acquainted with Farrell (and her impressive vinyl and vintage book collections). —The Stone Set

We’re in a simple sartorial mood: we want clean, classic lines that feature great design that doesn’t call attention to itself. MF by Meghan Farrell’s Cross Kiss ring, in silver satin, fits the bill: it’s perfectly proportioned, not dainty or shy, but not too loud and bold, either. It’s a simple ring that stands out, and adds just enough interest to virtually anyone’s hand.

Meghan Farrell Jewelry just dropped their Autumn/Winter 2014 lookbook, an eclectic merging of style and concept. The New York City-based jewelry label draws influences from the medical sciences and romantic musings, resulting in crisp shapes melded within striking metals. Always sensual and moody, MF Jewelry takes everyday simplicity and layers it with emotional artistry.

You race the sun on Highway 1, eyes glued to the shifting colors of the sky. Meghan Farrell makes me feel lazy. Currently she splits her time between designing jewelry for her eponymous line, DJing every Tuesday at Dream Baby in the East Village, shooting bands at whatever shows she happens to be attending, plus volunteering weekly at the charitable initiative Cooking Sprouts, where she helps teach a bunch of seven-to-nine year olds (from PS24 in Sunset Park, Brooklyn), how to garden and then cook what they grow. – Kim Taylor Bennett

Galore, April 2013

When I find something I love, I wear it to death, so much so, it becomes a staple. When I design, I hope this translates into my work! It’s the best feeling when someone falls in love with a piece—whether it be an accessory or garment—and just wears it to death.

Meghan’s jewelry can be found on plenty of NYC cool kids and in more than one of our favorite shops. Each piece is unique: rings carved in the shape of a brain, pulse monitor charms and human hearts. Okay, that sounds a little jarring, but trust us, they still manage to come out looking delicate.
